“ Drove down from Edmonton... Canada Day (AB Day!) and the place is buzzing. We shared our table with a couple folks from Two Hills. Got to know each other as if we were catching up on old times. Great atmosphere. Overloaded staff was most pleasant/gracious and accommodating. And as always, the food was great! We'll be back, probably under more "normal" circumstances. ”
“ Small town small town business with friendly atmosphere. Take the time to stop in and have a bite to eat. Simple menu that you would come to expect in a small town with all everyone favourite. Couple items if you DARE to accomplish heart attack burger see picture. Maybe in our younger years we would have tried. Order the grilled chicken wrap with side salad to the owner keep on allowing that as an option as not all enjoy fries. The side salad had tiny bits of veggie and even fruit that was really great. Most establishments lack veggie in side salad. Everything was to be expected for flavour and the chicken in the wrap was warm. Portion side was fair. Other guest had zombie burger and their fries that are deep fried in lard. It one of those towers burger’s that you will definitely be needing lots of napkins. The patty was thick and little flavour pre frozen but with the condiments and extras add to the burger it was good. The fries were good as well portions size was fair. Order the German chocolate cake no picture but it was moist and full flavour. Portion size was fair. ”
“ First and foremost, anyone who gave a 1* because they don’t agree with their politics can fly a kite. A small business owner that went to the mat with government and police over our freedoms is a hero and should be treated as such. Very petty to give a low review not having even tried it! Very petty to judge as a government employee with a guaranteed job or a student who hasn’t even got their ears wet. This was his livelihood and he fought for it according to our rights and freedoms despite if it made you uncomfortable and made you pee your little pants. Today it was an absolute pleasure to support these guys. They had shops set up around the property in a farmers market style and you could support any number of small businesses. What an awesome idea! The whistle Stop itself is your typical, small town gas station with Cafe/restaurant side that is slowly becoming extinct in favour of big chains and franchises. So I’ll happily support what is truly a small business and not some justifiable support of the aforementioned businesses where a percentage leaves to some major city and CEO. To you petty petty people who wished this establishment the worst of outcomes... “Honk, Honk”! ”
“ Amazing food! As you can see by the photos. Sever was very friendly and attentive. Went there to hopefully meet Chris, but alas, he was on a speaking engagement. Oh well. Was still definitely worth the drive from Edmonton. Happy to have supported a local business and people that believe in standing up for your rights as Canadians! ”
“ Wonderful road stop. Best I have stopped at for a long time. Friendly staff, almost like old friends, , delicious food, very clean well stocked rest room, gas station and a store with reasonably priced items. I have wanted to visit the infamous cafe for years and finally we get the chance. My son had Salisbury steak and I had steak. He had chocolate cake I had a sundae. Good size servings of home like food. I look forward to going again, which I hope isn’t too far off. I would go out of my way to stop there again. ”
“ There's not many stops on Highway 21 to gas up or grab something to eat. December 24, dropped by Whistle Stop to use the clean restrooms and grab some coffee and a sandwich. ”
“ Our favorite freedom-loving stop. Don't judge this truck stop by exterior appearances. The portion sizes are generous and the food is very tasty. We have been back several times. ”
“ It was a pleasure to meet Chris Barber at the Whistle Stop today. He is a true patriot and has added immeasurable change to our country in his unwavering commitment to Canadians right to stand up and be heard. The food was great, glad I was able to support such a great Canadian hero of freedom. ”
